The Client
YORK, a Johnson Controls Company (NYSE: JCI) is a global manufacturer of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Johnson Controls is ranked on the Fortune 500 with sales of more than $27 billion.

The Challenge
YORK was preparing for an intensive classroom-training program for its sales engineers. The challenge for YORK was that these employees were coming to the technical training program with a wide range of background and knowledge of fundamental concepts needed for the planned curriculum.

YORK needed its sales engineers to arrive with a common educational foundation because it was not time or fiscally feasible to add this training to the classroom program.

The Result
We developed a custom e-learning application that effectively communicated the technical concepts for this specific industry including constant and variable speed chiller operation, DC filtering, and DC to AC inversion. It also allowed the user to progress through the training and his own pace.

The virtual delivery of this training also provided significant cost reduction compared to the opportunity cost of sales engineers being removed from the field as well as the costs of travel and live classroom instruction.
